About this tool

Enter an event title and its start and end, then download a standard iCalendar (.ics) file. Opening the file adds the event to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook and most other calendar apps, and you can email or host it as an 'add to calendar' link for others. You can mark the event all-day, add a location, description and link, set a reminder, and make it repeat daily, weekly (on chosen days), monthly or yearly, ending after a number of repeats or on a date. Times can be floating, meaning the same clock time wherever the file is opened, or converted from your time zone to a fixed UTC moment. Text is escaped and long lines are folded as the standard requires. The file is built in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Enter the title, start and end, or tick All-day.
  2. Choose floating time or a fixed moment, then add location, description, reminder and repeat if needed.
  3. Press Download .ics, or Copy text to paste it elsewhere.
  4. Open the file to add it to your calendar.

Common problems

The event shows at the wrong hour for other people
Floating times show the same clock time everywhere. Choose 'Fixed moment' so each person sees it in their own time zone.
Outlook or Google adds a duplicate when I reopen the file
Each download has its own ID, so importing again creates a new event. Delete the old one first.
A weekly repeat starts on the wrong day
The first event is on the start date. Tick the weekdays you want and make sure the start date is one of them.
