Convert speed between five units: mile per hour (mph), knot (kn), meter per second (m/s), kilometer per hour (km/h) and foot per second (ft/s). The tool opens on mph to km/h. Everything is converted through meters per second, with factors of 0.44704 for mph, 0.5144444444 for knots, 0.2777777778 for km/h and 0.3048 for ft/s. One knot is one nautical mile per hour, about 1.15078 mph. The result is labeled with the unit symbol and shows up to 8 decimals. Because the km/h factor is rounded, a result can differ from the exact value in the last digits.

Common problems
- Knots are not the same as miles per hour
- A knot is a nautical mile (1,852 m) per hour, longer than a statute mile, so 60 mph is about 52.14 knots.
- Speed limit signs differ by country
