About this tool
Choose a video and press Process to get the same video with its audio track removed. The tool copies the video stream as-is with ffmpeg in WebAssembly (no re-encoding), so it is fast and the picture quality is unchanged. It runs in your browser and the file is not uploaded. The output is an MP4 named after your video with -muted added. There are no options. The first run downloads the ffmpeg engine (about 25 MB) from this site, which can take from a few seconds to a minute on a slow connection; later runs on the same page reuse it.
How to use it
- Drop a video or choose a file.
- Press Process.
- Check the preview to confirm there is no sound.
- Press Download.
Common problems
- Processing fails for some files
- The video codec may not be allowed in an MP4 container. Convert it to MP4 with the Video Converter first.
- I want to keep the audio and remove the video
- Use Video to MP3 instead.
- It is slow, or the tab freezes or runs out of memory
- ffmpeg runs in a single browser thread on your device. Use a shorter or smaller file and close other heavy tabs.
