About this tool
Write the pages you want to remove, for example 2, 5-7, and the tool saves a new PDF with all the other pages in their original order. At least one page must remain. Your file stays on your device: it is read and changed in this page and is never uploaded, so it is safe for contracts, IDs and other private documents. Remember that deleting pages in a copy does not change the original file, and that this removes whole pages only: it is not a way to hide text or an image inside a page you keep. Pages are copied without re-compression. Bookmarks and form fields are not carried over. A PDF with a password must have the password removed first. Every operation writes a new file, so digital signatures on the original no longer verify in the copy, and document properties such as title and author are not carried over.
How to use it
- Drop your PDF on the page.
- Type the pages to delete, for example 2, 5-7.
- Press Delete pages.
- Download the shortened PDF.
Common problems
- It says that would delete every page
- Leave at least one page. To delete everything but a few pages, use the extract pages tool.
- Sensitive text is still in the pages I kept
- Deleting removes whole pages only. To hide part of a page you need a redaction tool that flattens the page; covering text with a box does not remove it.
- Page N does not exist
- The number of pages is shown under the file name. Use end for the last page.
