About this tool
Enter as many or as few details as you like: name, organisation, job title, work and mobile phone, email, website, postal address and a note. The tool builds a vCard 3.0 card (RFC 2426), the format phones and address books import. Commas, semicolons, backslashes and line breaks are escaped, long lines are folded at 75 bytes without splitting a character, so names in Greek or other alphabets stay intact, and phone numbers are reduced to digits and a leading plus. Scanning the code with a phone camera offers to add the contact. A card with many fields makes a denser code that is harder to scan from far away or when printed small, so keep it to what people need, and use higher error correction only if you add a logo or print on a rough surface. Nothing is uploaded: the code is made in your browser.
How to use it
- Enter a name or an organisation, the only required fields.
- Add phone, email, website and address as needed.
- Check the preview, then scan it with your phone to confirm it saves the contact.
- Download the PNG for a business card or email signature.
Common problems
- The code looks too dense to scan
- Remove fields you do not need, such as the note or address, or make the image larger. Fewer characters mean bigger squares.
- Accents or Greek letters look wrong after scanning
- Most phones read them correctly. If an old scanner app shows garbled text, try the phone camera or another app.
- The phone only shows text, not a contact
- Some scanner apps show the raw card. The phone camera and most address-book apps offer to save it.
