About this tool

Choose a PDF and decide how to cut it: every page as its own file, files with a fixed number of pages (for example every 5 pages), or groups you write yourself such as 1-3; 4-6; 7-end, where each group becomes one file. The results are listed for download one by one, and also as one ZIP file. Your file stays on your device: it is read and changed in this page and is never uploaded, so it is safe for contracts, IDs and other private documents. Each output keeps the original page content, so text stays selectable and images are not recompressed. Bookmarks and form fields belong to the whole document and are not copied into the parts. A split can make at most 500 files. A PDF with a password must have the password removed first. Every operation writes a new file, so digital signatures on the original no longer verify in the copy, and document properties such as title and author are not carried over.

How to use it

  1. Drop your PDF on the page.
  2. Choose one file per page, a fixed number of pages per file, or write your own groups separated by semicolons.
  3. Press Split PDF.
  4. Download the files one by one or all together as a ZIP.

Common problems

It says the split makes only one file
Choose a split that gives at least two files. To keep some pages from a document, use the extract pages tool instead.
A group says a page does not exist
Page numbers start at 1 and end at the number of pages shown under the file name. You can write end for the last page, for example 7-end.
Too many files
A split is limited to 500 files. Use bigger groups, for example 10 pages per file.
