PDF Watermark
Stamp text such as CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT across the pages of a PDF, with size, angle, opacity and colour.

Nothing is uploaded: the file is processed in this page.
A watermark is drawn on top of the page. It is not security: anyone can remove it, and it does not hide the text underneath.

About this tool
Type the text (for example DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL), then set its size, angle, opacity and colour, and choose the pages. The text goes once in the centre of each page, or repeated in a pattern over the whole page if you tick Repeat across the page. Placement is measured against the page as it looks on screen, so rotated pages are marked correctly. Your file stays on your device: it is read and changed in this page and is never uploaded, so it is safe for contracts, IDs and other private documents. The watermark is drawn over the page content with transparency. It marks a document as a draft or as belonging to someone, but it is not protection: it can be removed by anyone with a PDF editor, and it does not hide anything underneath. The built-in font covers Latin letters, digits and common punctuation only; other alphabets such as Greek, Cyrillic or Chinese cannot be drawn and are refused with a message. Keep the original file. The result is saved as a new file, so a digital signature on the original no longer verifies in the copy.
How to use it
- Drop your PDF on the page.
- Type the watermark text and adjust the size, angle, opacity and colour.
- Optionally list the pages, or tick Repeat across the page.
- Press Add watermark and download the PDF.
Common problems
- It refuses my text
- The built-in font covers Latin letters, digits and common punctuation. Use a transliteration, or add the watermark with an editor that has the font you need.
- The watermark hides the text
- Lower the opacity or use a lighter colour. A watermark is drawn on top of the page.
- Someone removed my watermark
- That is possible with any PDF editor. A watermark is a visible marker, not protection; use access controls for sensitive documents.
